    Deep Dish Dungeon review

A hand-crafted dungeon with no map and no waypoints, where cooking keeps you alive. Patient explorers love it; others find the backtracking a slog, especially solo.

Deep Dish Dungeon is a survival game set in one big, hand-crafted dungeon, from Behold Studios and Raw Fury. You explore, craft and cook to stay alive, alone or with up to two friends online. It launched day one on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on Oct 13.

There’s no OpenCritic average yet, and reviews are mixed but mostly positive. DualShockers gave it 8.5/10, and Saving Content (4/5, Steam Deck) calls it awesome. TheBigBois (7.7/10) says it isn’t for players who need a waypoint, because there is no map and no marker telling you where to go.

Food is the main system: you eat dishes for buffs that wear off over time, a bit like Valheim. TechRaptor (6/10, PC) was less keen. It found the combat stiff, the inventory small, and the backtracking heavy when playing alone, and says the ideas don’t always fit together.

Saving Content had no technical problems on Steam Deck. There’s no Xbox performance report yet. Bring a friend if you can, and expect to learn the dungeon by heart.

“for patient explorers, it’s a treat.”— TheBigBois
